Present Object Identity
Present Object is a multidisciplinary creative project initiated by Roman Caspian Vlasov, a Brooklyn-based designer, visual artist, filmmaker, and ambient techno producer. His work consistently blurs the boundaries between sound and visual art, crafting immersive, multi-sensory experiences that explore themes of consciousness, technology, and the natural world.
The visual identity for Present Object was conceived to be as adaptable and versatile as the project itself. It is designed to fluidly transition across various formats and contexts, capable of functioning both vertically and horizontally, as well as in quiet, subtle applications or more bold, expressive expressions. This flexibility ensures the identity can evolve seamlessly, echoing the experimental and boundary-pushing nature of the work.
For typography, a custom display font was developed — a geometric sans serif paired with an alternate gothic version. This duality reflects the project’s exploration of contrasts: the clean, modern lines of the geometric font embody technology and futurism, while the gothic variation introduces a sense of texture, history, and human craftsmanship. These typefaces work together to create a visual language that balances precision with organicity, clarity with complexity.
Overall, the identity for Present Object embodies an adaptable, layered aesthetic, designed to reflect its creator’s interdisciplinary approach — constant evolution, experimental spirit, and a deep curiosity about the intersections of sound, image, and consciousness.
